I woke up feeling all kinds of wretched. My stomach did not want to know me. I thought back to the airport lounge buffet, and mentally gathered suspects. Then I went back to bed.
I woke up later in the afternoon, and found a small grocery shop. My stomach was still feeling delicate so I grabbed some noodles and beer to take back to my hotel room. I was very glad my hotel room had a kettle. Weirdly, it worked. I am now going to always try beer when I'm feeling off. That was good, because I had a tour this evening. One I was particularly looking forward to.
A little background: In 2013, the late WGH and myself went to Liverpool to visit my Sister from Another Mister and family. Sister Lisa took us on a day trip to York, the highlight of which was the York Dungeon.

The York Dungeon |
The Dungeons are kind of an interactive living history museum, and there happens to be one in London. After I had booked my trip, I discovered the London Dungeon has an adults only cocktail tour on one Friday a month. The Friday, in fact, I would be in London. Guess what I did! That's right. Front Seat at the Top of the Double Decker |
I took the bus to get there. The one wonderful thing I found about London was, no matter where I was staying and where I wanted to go, there always seemed to be a direct transit route there. Naturally, I took some pictures on the way.

The London Dungeon is in a very touristy area; close to the London Eye, Big Ben, and a few other attractions.

When the tour was to begin we were taken into a chamber, given hats to wear, and drinks to drink. It was a promising beginning.

Bar at Beginning of Tour |
The tour focusses on the darker parts of London history, so there are, of course, re-enactments of torture, Jack the Ripper, the Great Fire of London, and many other macabre scenes. I really enjoyed it. It is helpful, embarking on the cocktail version of this tour, if you like gin. The end is an optional "hanging" drop ride. I sat that out, as I have a problem with my neck.

Dungeon Bar and Gift Shop |
Naturally, you finish in the gift shop. It also has a bar, so you can have another drink if you so desire.

Bottom line, I would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys, in the words of Ruby Gloom, the bright side of the dark side.
