Thailand Part II - Getting There on Korean Air

My flight to Thailand connected through Incheon, South Korea, flying business class on Korean Air. This was a new one for me. It leaves out of Terminal 3 in Toronto, and has access to the Air France lounge.

Wines were available on demand, but that seemed to be the only option at this time of the morning.

Business class on Korean Air includes a lie-flat bed. My pod had lots of foot room, and there was bedding, amenities kit, and slippers available when I arrived.

The menu pictures didn't turn out, but the onboard champagne was Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque 2012. Yummy. In Canada, they do not serve champagne on the ground, only water and juice, but it didn't take long for them to break out the bubbly once we were in the air.

Amongst the choices were bibimbap, and since we were on a Korean plane, that's what I ordered. I did miss the fact that a video was available to explain how it was to be eaten, since it wasn't served the way I have had it in Canada, but I muddled along as best I could and quite enjoyed it.

After dinner service (actually served at Toronto lunch time),  I decided to get some sleep to try to acclimatise myself for the other side of the world. I managed to sleep for about 3 hours, and then requested a coffee.

The "lunch" served before landing was less elaborate than the dinner, but included a salad, and I chose the Korean option again; in this case, it was bulgogi. I, of course, enjoyed it with more champagne.

The Korean Air lounge at Incheon was spacious, but I found it a little bright and stark, compared to some others I've been in. The offerings were extensive though, although with all I'd been given on the flight, I mostly helped myself to water.

Soon, I was onboard the final leg to Bangkok, in another lie-flat. This flight was a little less luxurious (and much shorter) than the previous. "Prestige" class here was in a 2-3-2 configuration. I was on the aisle in the middle section. Thankfully, no one was in the centre seat.

Food and drinks were similar to the offerings on the previous flight. Happy exception: the yummy champagne service started on the ground.

Arrival in Bangkok was fairly smooth. Immigration wasn't extremely fast, but it wasn't terribly slow either, and it was simple. You are finger-printed, photographed, and sent on your merry.
